For more than 15 years, Valerie Hickey has designed positive change management and learning solutions for corporations and government agencies. Clients such as Workopolis, Trillium Health Centre, Manulife, RBC and the Ministry of Transportation have benefited from her expertise.
A multilingual communicator with a Masters of Education, Val has lived and worked in Europe and Africa, and has honed a perceptive ability to understand cultural patterns and human factors. This awareness, along with excellent qualifications from Cambridge University, England, are the keystones of her design success.
In 1998, Valerie joined LGS Group to help the IT consultancy implement a more robust talent management framework. A few years later, as a Senior Managing Consultant with IBM's Human Capital Management practice, Val delivered organizational development solutions for more than 20 corporate and government clients. Valerie has co-authored a leading-edge design method called Expressive Service Blueprinting, which defines positive customer, stakeholder and learner experiences.
Valerie's passion is to heighten the positive impact of learning so that Canadian businesses expand the capacity to create their future.
Outside of Fusion, Val can be reached paddling the wilderness lakes of northern Ontario in the summer, skating the rinks of Toronto's great outdoors in winter, or cycling city and country roads anytime. Or just plain cooking and reading at home.
